About Nicole Carson
(she/her)

Mission & Approach

I approach therapy as a space for meaningful conversations, where we can explore your story at your own pace. I believe you are the expert in your own life and I hope to foster a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust and understanding. My approach is therefore best described as genuine and collaborative. I’m here to hold space to uncover and reframe your life stories in a way that aligns with your values, strengths, and desired outcomes.

I have a background in education as both a teacher and school counsellor, and a passion for supporting children and youth in areas such as anxiety, peer relationships, family dynamics, self-harm, and adverse childhood experiences. Through this work, I’ve gained a deep understanding of how our early experiences shape who we are and how we relate to others. This informs my approach in supporting adults as they navigate emotional challenges, life transitions, and relationships. I believe understanding the past—our values, beliefs, and cultural influences—heals wounds and lays the groundwork for meaningful growth.

As a hetero-passing, cisgendered white woman, I recognize the privileges I hold and believe it is my responsibility to approach therapy with humility and openness. I strive to create a space that is inclusive and respectful of diverse identities and perspectives. I take an integrative approach, drawing from strengths-based, person-centred approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Attachment-Based Therapy. When life happens, I’m here to offer support and provide tools to manage. When there is space and capacity to explore issues deeper, I’ll be there to help turn us towards your difficult emotions, welcoming them with curiosity.

I look forward to meeting you where you are, and helping you find a path forward that feels true to you.
